From an early age, Allison "Allie" Smith was well versed in just how cruel the world could be; and after the death of her fiancé she moves to England hoping that it would help her start a new life.

As if her life couldn't get thrown into even more chaos, she finds out that she has somehow been sent back to the early eighteenth-century where she literally runs into Admiral William Johnson - a broken man who hides behind an invisible wall after believing he had lost everything near and dear to him.

There was something about him that made Allison willing to break through that wall and see him for who he actually was.

She is then suddenly thrown into the world of pirates between a cruel old captain and a dashing young sailor who had a tendency to get under her skin. Then when old Captain Williams recognizes Victoria's necklace as being connected to a treasure known as the Wishing Stone all of the stories Victoria was told as a child became real and she has to try to keep the stone's power out of the wrong hands. She is petrified and prepared to die but little does she know that from the very first moment Captain Thomas Tyler lays eyes on her he finally believed in love at first sight. Placing her under his protection, his anger directed towards those who used his ship as a way to dispose of their crimes. He promises to return her to her family and hopes in time that the memories that haunt her soul will fade. One thing he wasn't prepared for, protecting her from himself. A lady and a pirate is absurd! (NB) Written using modern day colloquialisms intermingled with historical essence.
