Halley Jacobs is running for her life, leaving behind two sisters and an abandon warehouse. In the midst of running for her life, she stumbles (literally) into the arms of a savior. While fighting her way through training at a safe-house, far away from the Nefarious-she learns that she may not necessarily be safe and the only way to get to where she needs to be, is to gain the help of said savior-said savior who seems to avoid her at all costs.

Shall we do an experiment? Hear me out: an enemies-to-lovers where love is complicated but never toxic. Where the female lead knows what she wants and takes it. Where the male lead doesn't growl, rage or slam her into walls. A journey with all the angst, secrets, spice and heartbreak of dark romance without the abuse. Are you ready? ******************************************** It's 1984, Queen on the radio and rage in the streets. Moira Bourne, stretched thin between her nanny job, family drama and university classes, fights for the recognition she deserves. Evander Ward, fresh from a gap year in Europe and eager to prove himself, is ready for redemption. Two people whose paths were never meant to cross. When they do, the collision blows their life to smithereens. ******************************************** "Pass the tea, will you?". It came over me - it being it all, the shame, the anger, the sense of injustice and the nine hours I hadn't slept the night before. Those, maybe, more than anything else, because I reached for said tea and, possessed by that mighty cocktail of resentment, spat in it. I did so making sure he could see it, he could hear it. Then I passed it over to him and waited. His smile, at this point, had turned overjoyed, putting the previous ones to shame, revealing their graft. He had received the answer he was hoping for. He took the cup and chugged it down. Looked me straight in the eye and drunk it all. ******************************************** Fair warning: mentions of racism, ED, assault, sexism, and classism ahead. You know where your limits lie. "You can't tell me there isn't something here worth risking everything for." [New Adult Apocalyptic Romance] Summary: There are some things that you can't outrun. That becomes all the more obvious when the world is ending, when there's nothing left but the feral creatures that were once people, consumed now by a virus that's made them cannibalistic and ravenous. It might just be easier to end it all, but Claire still has one last thing to fight for. Her younger sister. And she intends to keep her safe, no matter the cost. So, with no other options and her sister in tow, Claire ventures out into the dangers of this new, unforgiving world in search of safety, security, and answers to some long burning questions. The first two things -along with some new, unexpected questions- she finds in an unlikely place: a stranger who she's become indebted to. She has a feeling he can help her answer all her questions, if she can allow herself to fully trust him. Trust, she thinks, is a fragile thing. Humanity, a construct. Love, a weakness. But these are the thoughts of a survivor, and she's beginning to wonder if surviving is all she wants. Maybe she wants to live.
