Liam waited. He didn't ask anything else, he just waited for Theo to continue. "I promised someone that I will find a way out, away from the Doctors. I don't expect anyone to understand how it was living with them and I don't expect you to understand why there was no other way. But it ended, how it ended, and they are dead now anyway. I just changed one prison for another." Still, the same tone. Not a sign of anything. "You deserved it." Liam didn't recognize his own voice. It was just a whisper, full of hurt and pity. Theo corners me against the counters of my empty kitchen and might I add, empty home. his hands placed on the counter behind me as his face levels to mine.
