Two hundred years ago, John Brown and his followers led an attack on the most heavily-protected Southern armory, in an attempt to start a slave rebellion. He was put to death as a terrorist, and is remembered today as a martyr for the abolitionist cause. Take a trip back in time to the darkest period in American history- moments before the outbreak of the American Civil War.

The Forgotten Ones (A Completed Steamy, Historical Romance)
We know a lot about the American Civil War. We know about the battle at Gettysburg and how Sherman burned Atlanta but do you know many individual stories? Follow Oliver and Naomi from their arranged marriage through the war. It will be quite a journey as Naomi faces the war home alone and Oliver fights battle after battle. She will face one of the cruelest band of the southern militia army as she tries to protect the people she loves most. This is a story about the ones left home during the war. The one's who earned no great merit or place in history. The forgotten heroes of a bloody war that stood for freedom and equality for all Americans. I based some of facts in the story on writings left behind by my family that lived here in Indiana in the 1860s. My ancestors were Quaker and they were abolitionists in Indiana. We still have their homes used in the underground railroad in our family. My other side was endangered servants from Ireland and my great-great-grandfather was, unfortunately, one of the soldiers that came to Indiana while serving under John Hunt Morgan. "Dance with me." While I knew it wasn't a demand, it wasn't a question either. I hesitated and he noticed. "Come on Grace, give this gentleman the honor of a dance." "I don't see a gentleman anywhere." He chuckled, stepping closer and tucking his thumbs into his tight jean pockets. He looked like every woman's dream--dark jeans that hugged him sinfully, golden-tanned skin contrasted by his white-fitted shirt, a black, wide-brimmed cowboy hat, and a smile that could send any woman on her knees. Not to mention a voice that coated your skin like silk sheets. I hated how much I noticed. "You're right, but I would like the honor anyway... ma'am." ********************* Meet Grace--living the city life, reserved, eager to please, loyal to a fault. Feeling empty for reasons she's not yet sure of, she's adamant on chasing anything that makes her feel free. Meet Colt--living the country life, private, stubborn, outspoken. Feeling empty for reasons he's well aware of, he hides in his daily routine. Grace can't seem to figure out why she holds nothing back when it comes to Colt. He's absolutely infuriating. Colt can't seem to understand the affect Grace has on him, and why he cares what she does. She's entirely maddening. When the two get lost in the wilderness, it's up to Colt to get them back. Can they put their differences aside long enough to survive? Is it Colt who will save Grace, or is it she who will be his saving grace? To blame for the death of his mother, Native America. To blame for the American Revolution. To blame for something that was not his fault, the reason that the revolution happened in the first place. A buildup of emotion and sentiment. The start and the end of the symbolism on the 4th of July. What America saw as a triumph, a cause for his mother's happiness; would quickly turn into agony, the very same day. On July 4th, when independence was technically declared, freedom was bound to be free from its enlistment. Only for America to find his mother dead, and his 13 children gone. His twin brother, Confederate, missing. In which he would later collapse at the news that Confederate allied with the murderer of their mother, Great Britania. ... April 12th, 1861. America was at war. He was at war with someone who could never care to become real, to become truth. Bullshit. Everything in that person was lies.
