This story is about a girl named Kennedy Edwards who is a complete and total outcast. She has an ABUSIVE father and has no friends at all. It is her senior year at Oakwood High School. She ends up becoming a singer, volleyball player and makes her first friend Abbie Bowman. When she makes the volleyball team the only number left is #13 which is known as being unlucky, but for Kennedy its actually more lucky than you think. She becomes best friends with boy band One Direction and singer Ross Lynch all in the effort of just trying to get through her senior year in one piece. But during that time of all things going good for Kennedy it falls really quickly.. She gets injured during a volleyball game, loses her voice, Abbie gets into a bad car accident, and one of the boys start getting a bit too jealous about Kennedy getting so much attention from other guys now. So is #13 going to live up to its name of being unlucky or will it be lucky afterall???
