Immortality is not a gift, it is a curse. Atleast, that's how Rae feels about it. Over the past 1000 years, she had watched anyone she cared about wither away and die in her arms, over and over again. She never knew what she was, she just woke up one day with no memory, but she knew she was dangerous to humans and did her best to just stay away from them to avoid causing them harm. She eventually meets the X Men and Professor Xavier helps her control her abilities so she can use them for good to help the humans.
