Four years after the initial vanishing of William Byers, the gruesome death of Barbara Hollands, and the appearance and disappearance of the Demogorgon; Almost two and a half years after the first (and last) appearance of Dustin's pollywog buddy, Dartanian, the mind flayer inhabiting and almost destroying the body of William Byers, and finally closing the gate to what most people refer to as the Upside Down, (hopefully) for good. Everything seemed... oddly normal. Almost TOO normal for anyone's new evolved defense mechanisms, and paranoia to the abnormality.
El, now known to most as Jane Elle Hopper, is Chief Hopper's adoptive daughter, living with him for almost two years. Jane has been homeschooled for the past two years, she has been living with Hopper. And they have been the happiest years she's ever experienced. Spending the weekends with the boys and Max, Will and Dustin taking time out of their days to teach her how to play Dungeons and Dragons, Max and Nancy helping her figure out certain topics that Hopper(or any of the boys, really) couldn't really explain well, and Lucas teaching her about the trending eighties pop culture around them.
Although, Jane's best days were with the entire party. Jane's favorite days had to be the ones that were spent with Mike, of which are usually spent just enjoying each others company. This had all been in preparation for the day that Jane had dreamed and anticipated for the longest time. Her first day of high school.
