Theodora was walking into the village with her son when she stumbled across a half dead man. Even though she is shunned and considered an outcast for having a bastard child, she drags the man back to her home and nurses him back to life.

Ian McKellan, after being badly injured by his enemies, wakes up to see the face of an angel. Once he realizes that he is not dead but within close proximity of the most beautiful woman he has ever seen, he decides he must and will have her.

Theodora has met many men in her lifetime but none as persistent or determined as Ian. When he leaves vowing thay he will return to her and her son, Theodora realizes the wall she had built around her heart isn't as strong as she thought.
