Bitter rivals and Broken bonds

This takes place after The End when Tord,a communist comes back and Tom,his hated rival finds out and wants him gone but now Tord is starting to have second thoughts about Tom. Is he starting to have second thoughts about him or is this build up hatered he had inside of him when Tom blew up his robot?
