Avilan was a common dwarf. Or was she? Trained in the art of archery, she has caught the attention of Lord Dain, of the Iron Hills, cousin to Thorin Oakenshield. After a days training with her unknown mentor, she had been summoned before Lord Dain. Thorin had asked his cousin for reinforcements in taking back Erebor. Dain sends the woman in his place. The company wasn't expecting a woman instead of Dain, a true warrior, but she earns her place along the way.
Her skills are tested, and her emotions are strained. Meeting new family in Rivendell and fearing the loss of them.
But she never expected to find love on this journey. Especially not with a prince.
Will they both share the same feelings? Or will he be forced to let her go because of her heritage and family ties? Or will there be another reason as to why they cannot be together?

After the company has won the mountain, they must do all they can to defend it from those seeking to claim it as their own.
