Crimson is the color of the human soul.
17-year-old Arthur Fawkes works for a demon. A quirky demon in red braces, at that. One midwinter night, he found himself thrust from the fire and into the frying pan by a rabid beast, and was 'rescued', mind the apostrophes, by that same enigmatic demon. Thanks to this demon's curious taste in well-cooked mutton rather than rare spring lamb, he decided to let Arthur pay back the debt of saving his life in service rather than a quick afternoon tea. When he finishes his work, well... this demon might not eat him.
