As she looked around the church at all of their friends, family, and coworkers she realized that instead of feeling happy, she was embarrassed. Meredith felt like a fool standing in the front of a church in a floofy white dress. She didn't want this, she wanted Addison. The highway all looks the same after a while. Even the words on the signs begin to blend together until she can't read them. Not that she cares. The destination doesn't matter. What matters is that she's getting away, escaping before it's too late. If she learned anything from her parents it's that love doesn't last and it's best to leave before getting left. Meredith leaves Seattle two months into her relationship with Derek, fearing that the other shoe is soon going to drop. Upon arriving in LA, she meets Addison at a bar and for the first time in her life she finds herself not wanting to run when the relationship starts becoming serious.
