The Last Day

Hadlee Bennett didn't ask to be an Insusceptible.

Her senior year of high school was supposed to be filled with parties, relationships, and preparing for collage... after the Pestilence hit she will never get the chance to do that.

It was over eight months ago the Pestilence struck. Starting as a man made disease meant to enhance the human immune system, the vaccine originally known as the Cure was a breakthrough for scientist. For over a year it was continually bought and used by men and women all around the world, sharpening their minds and increasing their strength to super human abilities.

It was too late when they realized that the Cure was actually the exact opposite of the blessing it was supposed to be. The vaccine was too powerful for the human mind, and soon began to deteriorate brain tissue until the host was nothing more than a savage shell of what they had been. The Pestilence took the users and spread through the air like a common virus, and only those known as the Insusceptible survived.

The Pestilence was no problem to the Insusceptible... but the people who carried the virus... they were.
