At the scene of a recent murder in the downtown of Philadelphia, the PPD discovers the horribly mutilated body of a Jane Doe, riddled with multiple stab wounds. The case was investigated, but wasn't solved. A second body is located just days later, a John Doe, with a letter attached to the body. The letter outlined that the murders were committed by an infamous serial killer - who had gone silent decades earlier. With the new found information, Philadelphia Police Department chooses to hire two of Philly's best detectives.

Declan Andrews isn't the most normal one on the street. He dresses odd, he has a morbid sense of humor, and he rampantly changes his attitude. But he's smart, smarter than most. He's stuck on the line between genius and sociopath, a nudge too hard would push him over the edge, for better or worse. But after the recent killings hit a little close to home, he has to make a choice. Will he remain lawful, or will he melt into the criminal underworld?

Maria Ritter is different. She can see details as if they were psychically projected into her head, noticing even the smallest of incisions, the tiniest scraps of evidence. She's orderly, she's neat, and she's strict. But after the recent string of murders, she finds herself stuck between her family and the law. She has to choose where her allegiance lies, will she risk everything for the ones she loves, or will she make the decision that could tear her apart?

Delving into the recent murders will stir up riddles, misdirection, and the murders of the past, bridging the gap between past and present, unraveling the dark history hidden beneath the maze of streets and under the cloud-tearing skyscrapers. The battle between the mysterious serial killer and the Philadelphia PD, fueling the rage between two feuding families.
