In this fanfiction I wanted to expand more on Lincoln Clay's personal character and establish a relationship with a female protagonist that would serve as a foil to some of his character traits. The storyline takes place exactly one year after the events of Mardi Gras in the Mafia 3 universe. It is in line with the choice to stay in New Bordeaux and run the city along with your remaining associates. Lincoln encounters Ebony who is a few years younger than he is and has a carefree, humorous, persona. She has recovered from her own tragedies in life which have strengthened her character. Unlike Lincoln, these hardships did not permanently leave her cynical of the world and she was able to develop a positive self image and trusting relationships. Ebony serves as a beacon of hope for a character like Lincoln, who has been consumed by personal losses and betrayals. She is also able to relate to Lincoln through their shared ethnic background and introduces him to some West Indian customs. Through shared emotional and sexual intimacy they're able to create a personal bond and learn to trust and connect with each other over the course of the night. The italicized words represent Lincoln or Ebony's thoughts. Some chapters or scenes are entirely from the perspective of one character while others go back and forth. This story has mature sexual themes so readers be advised.
