Skater is a 17 year old girl who has lost her way in depression. Skater is living by herself and doesn't seem to talk much when she is with other people including her friends. Her mother is dead and her father left them when she was a baby. Before her mother died she remarried to an abusive guy named William. After Skaters mother dies he gets sent to jail for well, killing his wife. Skater is then left to live on her own in which she does pretty well. One day her best friend Quinn tells her he thinks she needs to talk to someone because he can tell how unhappy she is. Skater suddenly realizes just how true what he thought was.
