Many may call me insane, many may call me crazy, many may call me mentally unstable... I prefer the term: MAD.

You may be familiar with the famous stories of "Alice in Wonderland". You hear about her weird, confusing journeys and think about how fun it is. But this Wonderland is a living hell. Every corner you turn is a crazy psychopath ready to murder you, including me. Your goal here? To survive. You've probably heard of the saying "It's kill or be killed". Well, here in Wonderland, that saying is our one rule. "There are no rules in Wonderland" except for the one. Doesn't matter who, what, where, when, why, or how. You survive, you get to continue living in this hell hole...

I am Marcey Sage, known here in Wonderland as The Mad Hatter, and I am the longest surviving person in Wonderland at the age of merely 14. Being here long enough has turned my sanity all topsy-turvy. When a new comer arrives by the name of Allie, I have to make the decision. To kill her or not.

There are a few things you need to know about Wonderland. First off, completely misnamed. It should be Terrorland. People don't just accidentally tumble into Wonderland, it sucks them in. There is no following of cute white rabbits with pocket watches. Wonderland is dangerous and you can lose a lot more than your head if you're not careful. Second, the Hearts are in control, but they shouldn't be. The throne of Wonderland rightfully belongs to the Spade heir. But he's currently missing. Now he has an idealistic young Real-Worlder on his hands and a rebellion in his heart. Mad is going to remove that Heart Queen if it's the last thing he does. She's the one who stole him from his life all those years ago and he's been waiting for the moment when he can tear her life to shreds in repayment. Now it's up to me and only me, Izzy Quest, a freaked out teen from Brooklyn, to save my dying twin sister. You may have guessed by now, I'm not the save-the-day-sort--Bell is. She's the sweet, honest, dependable, pretty twin. Don't believe me? Ask my lunatic of a mother. "You look like Bell; try acting like her." If Bell had to save me, she'd be all organized with sticky notes and a compass. Me? What do I have but OCD, a short fuse and a cynical attitude. Oh, but I can run--fast.
