Charity was raised to believe that emotions are the greatest weakness in the human body. The only way to effectively protect yourself is to keep your emotions carefully tucked way behind a blank mask. Afterall, that is the only way to survive in this dog-eat-dog world. At the age of 16, Charity is thrown out of her pack and left to survive on her own. She is forced to scavenge, steal, and stay hidden from nearby packs. She does whatever she can to ensure her own survival. Until she met her mate, the soon-to-be Alpha of the RedWood pack. A usually joyous event brings back a flood of memories and emotions for Charity. She struggles with opening up and leaving herself vulnerable to another person, especially after the betrayal of her old pack. She is determined to never let anyone close enough to hurt her again. Charity struggles to escape her mate and continue on with her old life, all the while she is unknowingly leaving herself vulnerable to a much more lethal predator. With her survival on the line, will Charity allow her perfect facade to crumble?

She began to fear every sound since she had met him. With every step she looked over her shoulder. Fear of him kept her wary. Trying to run from the nightmare he put her through was all that mattered, but the pain of being away from half of your soul was almost as unbearable as the fear motivating her. Diana had been without love for a very long time, and it doesn't seem like that's going to change. With the constant cruelities of her life, and only more to come, all that matters is escape. Escape by any means necessary. Life is rarely fair. Life on the run is even worse. Book 2 The art I used as the starting point for the cover was done by Antonio Mora
