Crazy. Insane. Mentally Unstable. Mary Lizabeth is considered all of these things even at nineteen years old. Only knowing a life of psychologists and doctors she ends up in Billery Mental Rehabilitation Hospital. She claims to see another world full of mystical people, new surroundings and royalty. Yet, her mother, Martha, uses her hallucinations as an excuse to pass the responsibility to her doctor, Erik Mathews. As she starts to explore this new world she gains knowledge of what life would be like if she stayed in Axien and experiences love for the first time. Her treatments start to become more severe and she fears her new world will parish with the help of Doctor Mathews. On the brink of war she has to decide if she should save the people she learns to love or if she should fight to keep Axien in existence at the cost of an empty heart.
