Born TO Die

From the day I was born I fought to thrive.

Little did I know, I was born to die. My

mother an addict with full blown AIDS, and

now I walk the road she paved.

The gift she brought was unprotected sex.

The price she paid was a painful death.

And as she goes on into heaven's gates, in

this prejudice world I stay. As people look

into my eyes, they won't see the tears I cry,

they won't see the eyes of death, they won't

see what mother left.

The battle I fight cannot be won, the deeds

mother did cannot be undone. A child not to be

cherished, not to be loved, a child never to

know what life was.

A child born with sorrow, a child born to cry.

A child like Christ, a child born to die.

Please enjoy this collection of my poems.
