Wilf Gilvary is a sixteen year old with a deep loathing of magic. His true passion is soccer not wizardry.
But there's a problem. After his father's death he's taken to the witch city of Mathowytch. Here a virus is infecting witches causing them to lose their power and become beautiful. Their only hope is a formula contained in a journal only Wilf can read, but for that he needs to use magic. When a young witch, Katryna, contracts the virus Wilf's reason to help become further complicated. He must find a way to accept that he's a wizard, before he and the Realm of Magic are destroyed. If he does, then there's a chance he'll be allowed to return to Hong Kong and his soccer team.

"What the hell?" I took a step closer to the mirror, staring at my reflection in disbelief. The person looking back was still me, but at the same time it wasn't.
