The story concludes with Bruce Wayne, a former shell of himself. Tortured by his past and losses, he refuses to take the mantle of the Dark Knight. Years later into Gotham City, the atmosphere is timid and tight. Security has decreased, and criminals have taken over the streets. The sightings of Joker and Harley Quinn have been gone. When a new generation of crime arises, an old and weakened Bruce takes the last reign to become the hero Gotham deserves, along with the help of a new Robin. Supporting key characters include James Gordon, Carrie Kelly, Selina Kyle, Harvey Dent, Commissioner Ellen Yindel, The Joker, and Mayor Stevenson.
