The the air toxic to breath, human evacuate their homes to live in underground complexes scattered around the country to avoid contracting the Infection that attacks human and animals brains until the know one feeling and on feeling only: 

Hunger. 

After a troop discovers something that could be a major breakthrough and huge step to curing the infection, they begin to make the long trek from what use to be Southern Georgia to Upstate New York. 

Trusts will be broken. Friendships will be made. And lives will be taken. Everything is at stake. But the world needs a hero, and Lieutenant Andi Brookes is their hero.
