The war has been going on for a while now. Most had already chosen a side, the Autobots or the Decepticons. Some though, resisted and tried to stay neutral, but Megatron was picking those bots off one by one. One cycle, the Decepticons had attacked a neutral camp that the Autobots had not known about. Wanting to help them, Optimus set out with a team, rations, and supplies. There, he meets a young couple that run the camp.

Story of a Sparkling-Transformers fanfic
An ambush. That was all there was to it. The Prime was alone at that time, launching his only sparkling off world to protect her. He was so close to losing her to the Decepticons, at least that was what he thought. He was left heavily damaged, leaking energon, for the other Autobots to find.
