Rayna has always wanted to be special. She always believed that she was meant for something more. The one thing holding her back is her mental disorder- schizophrenia. As Rayna struggles with schizophrenia, she faces obstacles of hearing and seeing things that aren't really there...or are they? Rayna's life changes when she meets this mysterious boy who knows so much about her and who she really is. Is Rayna actually a special person? *** "Please! Listen to me! We need to talk!" He shouts, but it sounds slightly muted from inside the car. "Leave me alone!" I scream at him. My hands are shaking as I put the keys into the ignition. Seconds later, the car starts. "Stop! Don't drive off! I have to tell you something! It's important!" The boy is still banging on my window. That's it. I pull my phone out of my purse and face him. "I will call 911 if you don't stop and leave me alone!" "No! Rayna, stop! They won't believe you!" He pleads with a desperate look in his eyes. I stare at him. He knows my name. "How do you know my name?!" I demand. "And why won't they believe me?!" It hits me after the words come out. Of course. This isn't real. None of this is. This is simply a hallucination.

I saw her long before she saw me. She didn't know then that her fate had already been sealed, that every step she took was drawing her closer to me. Closer to what she would become. There was something in her-something fragile, something wild. A fear she tried to hide, wrapped in defiance and confidence. It was intoxicating, watching her, knowing that no one else could see what I saw. No one else could feel the pull like I did. The slow, deliberate unraveling of her world as it would soon be tethered to mine. I felt my heart beat once, hard and fast. It was the only signal I needed. She would be mine-not in some fleeting, hollow way. No. I would strip away every shield, every defense, until she was laid bare, body and soul. And when she looked at me for the first time, I knew. She was already mine. A. Trigger Warning ⚠️: This story contains intense and graphic content, exploring dark and disturbing themes that may be triggering for some readers.
