The sequel to Silver Maiden. Lilly Schnee is all grown up and attending the same school her mother had attended back in her day. But unlike everyone else at Beacon Academy, she does not quite fit in. Then again, she hardly fits in with her own family, being the only Schnee with hazel eyes rather than blue. Will she be able to figure out where she belongs in this world? Or does she have a different destiny altogether?

Everyone already settled in their school life. The protagonists start uncovering a plot by Roman Torchwick and the White Fang while Cinder Fall's plan also moves forward with her followers Emerald Sustrai and Mercury Black infiltrating the academy without suspicion. General James Ironwood and the Atlas Military also come to visit the academy as well. During the course of the volume, the members of Team RWBY reveal their reasons for becoming Huntresses while questioning those reasons. Hints towards the past problems of the group include Weiss Schnee and her father Jacques Schnee taking over the Schnee Dust Company, Blake Belladonna and her past relationship with Adam Taurus and the White Fang and Yang Xiao Long trying to find her mother Raven Branwen after she left her years ago. An alternate take on Weiss Schnee's adventure, continuing immediately after the first episode of Volume 5, running somewhat parallel to the overall arc of the actual series. In this rendition of her world, she cannot stand to abandon another mayday from civilians under attack by the Grimm and she goes off to try and save them on her own. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the strength to win. To make things worse, the knightly armor she has the power to summon fails to come to her aid, and just as she is about to fall to the Grimm surrounding her, something sweeps her off to safety, something far too reminiscent of a glistening suit of knightly armor. Except that this suit of armor has a face. And that face has a name. Author's Note: William Hillphire, a character you will meet in chapter 13, actually belongs to a friend of mine. I wrote his character into this book in collaboration with him. His characterization is almost entirely his own.
