One fearful night leaves Ben and Emily Sterling with no other choice but to go and live under new identities miles away from each other.

But how do you pretend to be someone else when you're still struggling to process the events and lies that led you there?

That's what sixteen year old Emily is going to find out when she goes to live with the Davies in California.
From the moment she meets Luke Davies -the king of jerks - and his popular group of friends, Lily decides that she wants nothing to do with them.
Life, however, has other plans.

Counting the days till she's reunited with her twin brother, she has to accept that what she thought would be temporary slowly turns into something more permanent.
But after having already lost everything once, will she be able to let people in again?
More importantly, is it really safe for her to do so?
