Several shatter pieces of wine bottles layed scattered on the floor. The look in his eyes already tells me I've done enough to wreck us both. Silence resonated within the room before he began to speak. "I don't hate you," He started. "I'm just disappointed you turned into everything you said you'd never be." He motioned to the door and left me with one more glance over the shoulder before his departure. I fell to the ground on my knees, soundlessly. My lips parted to speak out loud, but not a sound was heard from me. I was at loss of words.

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as he stared across the table at me. I could seriously drown in his eyes. He was intoxicatingly attractive and he had to know it. That's why he was acting strange around me. For some reason, he looked at me as if I was the only one there with him. As if nobody else were here. And his voice... it pained me. It actually pained me with how utterly seductive and husky it always sounded. And the way he smelled all the time. I don't know why he smelled so strong, but I didn't mind. He smelled like evergreens and a hint of mint. It sounds like a bad combo, but it dizzied me with how lost I got in it. The thought of not being able to control myself, my thoughts and feelings and body when I'm around him, infuriated me. I was so good at holding myself together now, and he just unraveled me so easily, leaving me a mess. I wasn't the slightest bit afraid of him, and I had no idea why either. Just being in the same room, I felt like I didn't have to look over my shoulder. I didn't have to worry. I didn't even know who he was, and he still drew me in. "So, you were in California before? Why did you move?" Grace Hatfield asked, looking at him. She is our school's college and career advisor. She took me in and adopted me a couple years ago. She even gave me her last name. A saving grace. Why had she invited him here? Why did he come? He turned to her with a smile and a shrug. "Guess I just hadn't found what I was looking for yet." Something about the way he said it, sent a shiver down my spine. Why did I feel like there was so much more meaning behind his words than he was letting on? Alex thought he had it all then he got a shot of cold water. Years later he is finally getting his life to where he wants it to be. All except one little complication. He searched the darkness and saw leaning against the brick wall a slumped over figure. he debated then started to walk on not sure it was worth the risk, but the figure stopped groaned and fell. Alex sighed. There was no way he'd be able to walk away now. He went over and carefully rolled the figure over and was surprised to see it was a very young man. Alex couldn't see any wounds but when he searched, he found a large bruise on his side that had broken open and gotten infected. "Looks like you got the raw end of a beating. Better get you to a hospital." a hand shot out and grabbed his wrist. "NO! no hospital. just leave me alone." "No hospital huh? your wound is infected. if you leave it, it could kill you." "I'll be fine." he said then promptly passed out. Alex snorted and gathered the boy up and stood.Complete

"WHY CAN'T YOU GET IT INSIDE YOUR HEAD?" He trapped my trembling body between his arms and slammed his fist into the wall. I flinch at the sound as I feel tears forming in my eyes. You do not know when to back off! Why can't you just leave me alone!" I fumed "Because it is you we are talking about" he said stepping closer "What does that have to do with anything?!" I questioned backing up as he stepped closer "Because I don't want you hurt" he said getting even closer. I backed up till I couldn't any more "Why? I am not important. I don't mean anything. The only reason I am even stayed alive this long is because of Aaron!" I spat. "Don't you ever say that! You are not nothing! You are important!" He growled in anger "Yeah right! Like you would know!" i retorted. We glared at each other for a few second then Marc grabbed my face in his hand and passionately kissed me. I was taken by surprise. The wail of sirens echoed throughout the hospital as the emergency room doors burst open. Two individuals were being carted in while another gurney was carrying someone draped in a white cloth. It was too late for them. I could just barely hear what the paramedics were yelling to the doctors as they rushed to the operating room. "Car crash. Must have lost control. Both middle aged men. One is Native-American with long black hair and light brown eyes. He has multiple lacerations to the abdomen, his skull was fractured, left knee cap shattered, and internal bleeding." the young man explained. "The other is Caucasian with blonde hair and green eyes. His neck is broken, there are four fractures along his spine, we think his spleen might have burst, and there is a large piece of the car door sticking out of his chest. Possibly the handle. Both are in critical condition. There was a third passenger, but she was gone before we got to them." A louder sob ripped through my chest, my entire body shuddering from the force of it. Tears began streaming down my face faster than I could wipe them off. I wrapped my fingers around my ears the same way I did that night, silently begging the memories to go away. Before I knew it, I was rocking back and forth.
