It was the night of the annual town bonfire. The beach was filled with people, the noise almost deafening.
It wasn't surprising when no one heard the death of Violet Sparks. Not even her bestfriend, Elaine Jensen. Although Elaine was surprised when Violet went off with a guy, she didn't go looking for her, assuming what they were about to do.
When Violet did not return after the bonfire, it was then that Elaine started to worry.
