This story is about Gideon's unborn twin who was snatched from their mother's, Belle's, womb whilst she was in a sleeping curse. As Rumplestiltskin went to get Belle's father (Maurice) so he could wake his daughter from her sleeping curse, the Black Fairy broke into Rumplestiltskin's house. 

She swiftly found where her son's (Rumplestiltskin's) wife was laying. She opened her womb and found two tiny fetus. Delighted that she had two pawns to use in her evil plan to deceive Rumplestiltskin to love her and the darkness, she quickly grabbed one and put it into the magical dragon's egg where it would grow until fully developed. 

She left the other to be snatched at a later time. She sealed the womb and left no trace of her visit. And no trace of the baby.

Belle and Rumplestiltskin had no way of knowing that their child had been kidnapped, and the child grew surrounded by darkness.

She escapes from the Dark Realm with a purpose. Let's see what it is.

It will also fill plot holes and extend the ending of Beauty And The Beast. But that could also be because they didn't know any better. They'd watch tv and see Auradon, the place where princes and princesses grew up, where heroes were living their best lives, where kids were happily playing in the sun, where people had proper education and had jobs that actually mattered. But for as far as Mal and her friends cared, life on the Isle was good enough for them and they were just going with it, until one day everything changed. They got invited to Auradon by soon to be king Benjamin. It was difficult to change into that lifestyle, but the four vk's hadn't even really come to Auradon to do that. They had been commissioned by their parents to find Fairy Godmother's wand and free the Isle of the Lost, so they could take over the kingdom. They had a plan to steal that wand during the coronation of prince Ben, but during the time in between arriving in Auradon and the coronation, Mal found herself falling in love with the prince. Not only did she fall in love with him, the four vk's fell in love with the kingdom and realized that living there wasn't such a bad idea. Maleficent on the other hand didn't let go that easily and tried to fight them, but together they defeated her and got her turned into a tiny green lizard. And so it all ended well, you'd say. But this was not the end of the story, no, there's much more to come...
