After the death of her mother, Matilda Black is sent to live with the Archivist. Staying with a man who cares for a very vast, very secretive collection, it is no wonder she cannot keep her wandering legs and twitching hands to herself.

Months into her temporary stay, Matilda's curious mind leads her to the archives, forbidden to all but the Archivist himself. When she discovers something truly ancient and remarkable, her suppressed, adventurous spirit bursts free whether she likes it or not.

Now, Matilda is exposed to a world she never thought imaginable and is bound to a position neither she nor the Archivist could have controlled.

Together, Matilda and the Archivist must learn to accept one another if they are to successfully find the truth- the sacred truth they are destined to bring to humankind. Even if it involves treacherous jungles, woolly mammoths, roaring vikings, and a persistent icy-eyed male addicted to death.

Breaking Through Time

44 parts Complete

I looked at Michael lying in a pool of blood. Emily and Jack were still off the side in a cage, screaming and crying while looking at this horrifying situation. Robert was cuffed to the wall crying and blood was sipping down on his naked torso as he was shouting "No!" And looking down at me. This is it, Isabel, it is just you and me now! I have gone through a lot within the last few months and I am not the same person anymore. The anger, the pain of my injuries and the pain coming from my heart at everything that has been done to me and my family, for no reason at all, coalesces into a rage that will not be quenched ... All of this, because of some stupid prejudice by this woman standing now in front of me, so proud of herself... "That's it, Isabel! I had enough of it now! Let's end it now, once and for all!" I shout and her. Her black eyes widen and her pale face fills with a big smile.
