The music was loud. She heard it from down the block as she walked towards Tom's flat. She rolled her eyes and wondered how the boys had convinced the neighbors to let them have this little shindig. "Little my ass," She muttered as she approached the front door. She pushed into the main room, people everywhere she looked. "I don't think these two understand what small even means."

Her friends are her entire life. The boys meant the world to her. They had grown up together and were wading through the waters of life together. She watched as they carved their nitch into the world. A new boy came into her life one night... would he be accepted into her world? Would she allow someone knew to cause ripples along the smooth surface.

"Why have you been acting so weird around me today?" "What? I haven't been acting weird." I sit on the bed and cross my arms, wincing when the pressure from my arm sends a jolt of pain through my injured hand. "Yes, you have been. Any time I tried to talk to you all day, you made up some excuse to run off." "I don't know, Tom, I'm still getting used to us being friends." He rolls his eyes and shakes his head. "What now?" "It just seems like you're looking for a reason for us to fight." He scolds. "Really? Because right now it seems like you're the one fighting," I scoff. "God, I knew this was too good to be true." I walk into the bathroom to start taking my makeup off and Tom follows me. "Too good to be true?" He leans his hand on the counter next to me. He's radiating warmth. It makes me feel dizzy. I shake my head to get rid of the feeling. "Yes. Any time we take any kind of step to becoming friends, it gets ruined. Hence, what is happening now." I look at him through the mirror. Shock is plastered all over his face. "You are impossible!" He whisper-shouts. "Any semblance of an argument is blown way out of proportion." I place both hands on the counter and look into the sink. "All I've ever wanted was for us to get along," he scolds. "And it seems like every time we make any kind of progress, you push me away." I scoff and look over at him. I'm surprised to see tears in his eyes. He steps back toward the bedroom. "Maybe we shouldn't talk for a while. Clearly, we need to figure our shit out." He blinks his tears away and turns around, walking toward my bedroom door. "Tom!" He doesn't turn around, he doesn't acknowledge my calling him, he just walks out the door. "Fuck!" I whisper to myself. ----- Will Y/N and Tom finally be able to put their stubbornness aside and face the truth about their relationship, or will things end up as they always do: messy and uprooted?

Two figures walked up to the house and stopped in front of the fence. Scarlett shuffled closer to the figures to be able to hear what they were saying. She didn't know who they were, but if they lived in that mansion they were probably rich. And if they were rich that meant they'd have money. Money to pay debts. She hid behind a large trashcan and spied on the figures. It was a boy and a girl; with the girl in a wheelchair. And luckily, she could hear their voices. 'I'm not sure about this, are you sure you're going to be okay?', the boy asked the girl. 'No,' she replied as she suspiciously scanned the area and sniffed her nose. 'There's someone out there,' she said eventually. The boy looked around, confused, and smiled. 'It's probably just a stray cat.' 'No,' the girl said again, 'I know this scent.' Scarlett tensed and held her breath. What did she meant when she said she knew that scent? The girl pushed her wheelchair away from the fence, away from the house and the boy obediently followed. 'I told you, it's probably nothing.' Scarlett hid her head behind the trashcan and took off her backpack. There she reached for her collapsible sword. It slowly started to rain and Scarlett cursed silently to herself. This would blur her hearing senses. She could hear the girl approach as she was mumbling to herself. 'Where have I smelled this scent before? Where- Who?' Scarlett released her breath, closed her eyes and let the adrenaline kick in. She took off the cloth from her face. This girl had money, everything else didn't matter. She walked out of the shadows while the rain started pouring down on her. The boy and girl looked up at her in surprise and sharpened their attention. Her face wasn't too be seen, as she wore a large hood over her head and a cloth covering her face. Once she was close enough, she pulled out a small object that collapsed into a large sword and raised her chin challenging. 'I'm going to need your money.

"Marry me." he drawled out sexily. His eyes filled with desire and for the first time in my life, I felt the danger of my chastity being taken tonight. I took a deep breath as I eyed my best friend who had been with me since I was eleven. "We're friends, Gabriel. Don't do this." My voice weakened with every word I say. He chuckled dangerously and it felt like music in my ears, "Friends? Friends don't desire each other, Marianne. Don't think that I didn't know you were blocking the girls who were trying to take my number back then." I gritted my teeth as I felt the embarrassment of what I did back then when we were sixteen. I glared at him and punched his chest, "Then why did you still flirt with them?! You like playing around with my feelings?!" He stopped my hand from punching his chest. He lowered his head and put his nose to my neck to inhale my scent. "I didn't flirt with them, babe. I didn't text them. The texts you saw came from my other number I used to pretend I was texting myself. You don't know how crazy I get from holding back from touching you. The mere smell of yours is driving me crazy. So marry me, Marianne. Give me the right to taste you." His hoarse voice sounded painful but filled with desire, I shut my eyes tightly as nervousness and butterflies were swirling on my stomach, my knees trembling from excitement. He pulled my waist and he smashed my lips with his hungry mouth. His lips devoured my lips and his tongue invaded every inch of my mouth. ~~~~ Marianne and Gabriel had been bestfriends ever since they were teenagers. After becoming an adult, Marianne became a corporate office worker who only wants to farm while Gabriel became the most sought-after billionaire bachelor in the Philippines. With different status in life and different priorities, Marianne is getting ready to let go of her first love when Gabriel suddenly proposed to her.
