It was Edith's third life. First she was a poor hardworking girl lost under the pressure of work in the modern world of airplanes and computers but then she died.... Then she found herself in the novel she used to read. The book was worn out as she had reread it several times and now she is bound to the plot as a character who had to avoid the fate of ending up the villainess's accomplice and save her life. Was this to avoid death or her lover? She couldn't really say but the only thing was some characters were now different from the initial novel plot especially Derek whom she loved.
