Music flew through the air on soft, downy wings, the notes dipping and soaring in beautiful patterns. Teens floated about, carrying cups of fruit punch and other, probably more questionable beverages. I watched from the back wall, tears drying on my cheeks.
Tonight was supposed to be fun. It was supposed to be my night. I'd had it all planned out: the perfect dress, the perfect shoes, the perfect guy.
