Aetria: The Awakening

Sixteen years ago, Iyla's mother and forty-one other gifted Aetrians fell to the shadows bordering their home. The Kingdom of Aetria lies close to the Forest of Erebus, a realm where humanity disintegrates and minds are taken. Erebus has been silent for many years, but when its malicious forces abruptly awaken from their long seasoned slumber, Iyla must decide if it's finally time to reveal her gift. A gift that gives her complete control over the nature of water. The people once praised Aetrian gifted, but ever since her kind succumbed to the darkness, her gift only brings fear. If her ability was ever exposed, it could lead Aetria down a familiar path with an even more disastrous outcome than before.

Voices call out, offering her the control she needs to expand her gift's capabilities and bring salvation to the lands. But giving into the voices in her head means short-lived mastery of her gift and coming one step closer to the consumption of her mind.

Despite dealing with her father's manipulation over her people, Iyla seeks help from her closest friend, Shae. With the shadows looming over their home, the two must find a way to conquer their home's limited power and protection. Seeking out the other kingdoms and villages of Arei becomes essential in the defeat of Erebus, and each realm must decide if they are stronger together or wiser apart, all while trying to avoid the same fate as the gifted of Aetria.
