Si Adel ang kaisa-isang anak ng mag-asawang si Adelaide at Archel Amadaché. Nagmula sa marangyang pamilya at naninirahan sa isang napakalawak na Palasyo. Si Adel ay may napakagandang mukha, napakaamong itsura, napakabuting ugali, subalit sa likod ng kaniyang katangian ay isa itong kadiliman. Walang bahid ng kalayaan, at halos parang ikinukulong sa kulungan.
