I wrote this because I know books have the tendency of transporting your mind to the world your book is set in. I wanted to allow my book to do the same but in a way of coping. Knowing you are not alone, I was hoping my book would be able to transport you into every page. A lot of the stories are things I have been through and others are what loved ones close to me have been through ranging from many things such as heartbreak, sexual abuse, love etc. It is still a work in progress so please hang in there with me. Lost In The Mind of Me
Laid upon the pages of this book is a story. This is an autobiography. I struggled with writing this and, as you will soon understand, though I knew how to write it, writing it and thinking about it was difficult. I have not labeled the chapters in hopes that you will read all the way through. You may understand me a little more if you do so, but, on the same note, you may end up hating me. I do not know what your reaction will be, but I will allow your opinion of me. I give you full permission to judge me, only when you read everything. This is on my struggles with mental illness, traumatic events, my opinions, my thoughts, my feelings; this is a tour of my mind. Be warned, it's dark and haunted. But I felt it important for me to write this, so maybe I can overcome it. Thank you for picking this text to enlighten you. This is the story of an abused teenage girl, Maddie. Her need to die has become overwhelming and she is trying to find a way to help herself before she does something she may regret. The story is told from her point of view as she recalls all that has happened to her. Maybe telling her story will help her, maybe not. This isn't just any other sob story. This is more realistic. You may even find yourself comparing your life to Maddie's while reading this story. Disclosure: I wrote this as a 13-year-old and the writing is definitely not up to my current standards, but I feel as though changing what I have already written would take away from the emotion I put into this story at 13 years old.
