This is my fan fic for the YA 80's series called The Secret of the Unicorn Queen which were written by Josepha Sherman, Gwen Hansen, Dory Perlman,  and Suzanne Weyn.

From the back cover: When her eccentric friend Dr. Reit invents a machine that acts as a portal to another dimension, Sheila McCarthy accidentally falls through and finds herself in the kingdom of Arren. Well, Sheila did go home but the story didn't end there.
The hope of ever getting back to the world of Arren is all but lost to a now adult Sheila, after learning that her beloved Dr. Riet has passed away. The magic she once wielded and the friends she made will only ever be visited in her memories.  Or can they?

All grown up with a teenage daughter of her own, Sheila begins to notice weird things happening around her. At first she shrugs them off as coincidence, until the dreams begin. In them, her unicorn warrior friends beg for her help. The boy who was her first love is missing, impossibly captured by an age old enemy. Even if Sheila could somehow help them, she'd stuck in her dimension--but what if she could go back? Would she risk leaving her daughter behind?

Sixteen year old Daryn finds herself all alone when her mother suddenly vanishes in the middle of the night. With no explanation. No note. No reason for her to have run off. No one is ever safe at Hogwarts. **IMPORTANT** This book is very much just an introduction followed by incorporating the new character into the established world and timeline. As the author, I would suggest the following. 1. Read "Philosopher's Stone" (this book) till before the chapter titled "THE JOURNEY FROM PLATFORM NINE AND THREE QUARTERS" 2. Skip the rest. It is merely a telling of what you have already read in canon, just from a different perspective. 3. Move to "The Chamber of Secrets" and start with the chapter titled "TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE." All the chapters before that are, once again, events you would already be familiar with. 4. Finish book 2 and move on to book 3. There on after, you can read normally. This isn't compulsory. It is simply, in my opinion, the best way to enjoy the series. Since I understand that some portions of the first two books are not very different from canon and thus, can seen boring. A story about a young dragon named Luminous, and her journeys around a fantastical world that really isn't as alive as it was described to be. So: there are many spelling mistakes, lots of sections of text that make no sense, random things being said, and... Yea. This is a story I thought of when I was a little kid, to keep me entertained at night when I couldn't sleep. No, I couldn't spell back then. It was written in parts, in old sketch books. Then typed. Here's the prologue or whatever the actual heck this thing is: Once, in a land so long ago there was a world filled with all types of creatures. Big cats, wolves, birds, fish, dinosaurs, and, most of all... Dragons. In this realm, there were two types of dragons: Black dragons, evil, mysterious creatures, and White dragons, elegant, beautiful beasts. Not all of these dragons were black and white though, infact, there was only ever one white dragon and one black dragon ever hatched. They were.. Well, use to be... Sisters. These dragons can be in all manner of shapes and sizes, colours and patterns, and not all dragons breathed deadly flames. Some had the breath of water, ice, snow, air, wind, and all colours of fire. But, no matter what type of dragon it is, how strong or weak it may be, they all had magic in them. You can tell whether a dragon is a black dragon or white dragon simply by looking into its eyes. Eyes... They show a creatures soul and heart. This is the story of me. My name is luminous, and Im a very special lady dragon. I became the leader of all dragons, and this... This is my story. ... Teens, young men and women would fear for their lives, and lock themselves in their houses at night. But only one person refused to hide, either in bravery or utter stupidity. That person was Will Solace. So basically, this story is based on the cover art of the book. I just thought it was such a great idea and wanted to put it to story. I saw another person do this and they used the same cover art, and I hope you guys like my version! I, personally very much like it and hope you guys do to!
