"Let's start with some basics. Who are you?" Despite everything: my own confusion, my train wreck of a life, the trail of bodies, I almost start laughing. What an open-ended question. Dangerous, for sure. Powerful. A servant. Pitiful, wretched, and lonely. Mourning. An orphan and a warrior. You could even say cursed. After all, death held me on a tight leash and punishment came swiftly when I dared to wander too far.
"Just give me a name. Something to call you."
Another stupid question. A name? More like a label. But my scorn reeks of jealousy rather than honesty, so I give her the answer she says she wants.
"Eclipse."
"What about your real name?"
"I don't really- Eclipse. That's it. That's all I have."
Since age 8, Eclipse has been forced to obey and serve The Daggers, a branch of HYDRA, who specialize in experimentation and pushing nature's boundaries. Now, nearly twenty years later, her prison has burned down and her only ties to the sinister organization have been severed. Thrust into a new world of love and acceptance, her new life seems too good to be true.
But all good things come to an end, and even the strongest bond can be broken with the right force. This is a story about love and loss, right and wrong, and the courage to fight when there's nothing left to fight for.
Author's Note: This is set in the Marvel universe, so all characters belong to Marvel Studios and their creators. Except Eclipse ;) and some other random ones. Most characters will make an appearance, and I'm really sorry if I screw up the way a character should be written or mess up some facts. I'll update pretty frequently, hopefully! This is my first fanfic, so I'm sorry if it's horrible. Also, it'll probably get worse as it goes on, until I complete it, because I tend to reread my work when I can't think of anything to add, so the first few chapters will be more edited than the rest. Thanks for clicking on this! I hope you enjoy this story!
