When war erupted across Europe in 1939, sixteen year old Katherine Montague had known what she wanted to do - what she had to do. Now, five years later and a trained nurse in the British army, she finds herself thrust into the thick of that same war. Journey with me back in time as I rewrite the first Journal I kept from when I was in high school, and see that maybe even with how horrible life is most of the times, there are little things spread throughout that make life worth living. My high school experience was full of drama, tears, laughter, and most of all constant search of love, and approval of the people around me. I can't always get what I want in this world. Life is a beautiful mess. It's not perfect, and filled with a lot of disappointments, and heartbreak. There are moments when it all feels too much, but there's not much we can do other than go with the flow of things.

What kind of war will break out when these two worlds collide? - Suppression and subservience are being forcibly integrated into the life of Hana Amsel; a selfless and arguably naïve girl who has somehow found herself victim to the tyrannous and despotic rule of the Nazi Party homed in Germany. Though she insists that nothing could be worse than losing her home, freedom, and ability to proudly call herself 'German', her patience and implausible kindness are put to the test when she is forced to work for the man who spent a night violating her virtue. - Trigger Warning: Some scenes may be triggering for certain audiences with mentions of murder, suicide, rape etc.

My stories are organized by emotional theme, beginning with one story about emotion in general, and then moving through stories expressing distractedness, frustration, argument, love, fear, grief, sadness, humor, innocence, and self-love. About a year ago, I discovered my love for the short story and decided to build a collection of shorter works. I'm so glad I did; the variety of plots, characters, and settings I got to explore taught me so much, and I am beyond pleased with what I have to share.
