This is a story about a man who falls in love with a beautiful yet mysterious woman who lives in a haunted house-a house long talked about by the townspeople because of the strange and unexplained happenings surrounding it. At first glance, it seems like a simple love story, but with every visit the man makes to the old house, the mystery deepens... and so does the fear. He doesn't know which is stronger-his heartbeat for the woman, or the pounding in his chest every time a shadow passes by, voices echo without a source, and secrets are screamed by the silence of the night. Can he endure the supernatural for the sake of love? He is timid, easily frightened, and quick to panic whenever he senses something unusual. But the woman is different-she seems to be hiding a secret, and despite his fear, he finds himself falling for her even more. In the end, what will prevail? LOVE OR FEAR? In a story where both the heart and soul are put to the test... are you ready to enter a house you're no longer sure you can ever leave?

This story is not getting the attention it deserves, so I am attempting to "re-brand" it. Maybe no one "gets" it. If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room.
