Inspired by the story by Oscar Wilde about the golden statue of a prince that had lived all his life knowing nothing but joy and happiness at the hands of his parents. Largely based in the magical utopia of the palace grounds, prince Elwin, though he is known for being cheerful and happy, is curious even more so. When the opportunity arises for him to cross the unyielding wall surrounding the palace and experiencing what lies beyond, he does not hesitate. But he soon comes to realise that all is not laughter and joy under his father's reign, and learns that pain and sorrow is as much a part of human life as any other.
