Daryl Dixon is completely on his own. After the Saviors burn down Alexandria, he thinks that he is the only survivor. Living without the group that he has come to love, has left him as nothing more than a shell of the man he used to be. One day after a brutal fight, he stumbles upon a run-down shack in the woods. As he lay dying on the dirty floor, his life is saved by a complete stranger. These two loners find that living life together is so much better than doing it alone.

I haven't written a story in the first person since Broken. It's not as easy as it sounds, but I enjoyed the challenge. This story has taken me months to write and I finished it just days after the Season 8 midseason finale. Any similarities to that episode are pure coincidence. I wrote the chapter (You'll know which one) months before Season8 even started. For anyone that is newly following me or reading my books, I write differently than most. You only start to get chapters once the entire story is written. And it finally is.

 I hope everyone enjoys Angel.

TWD, seasons 1-8 currently published. Dark Romance - Slow Burn. Starts off with her falling for Rick possibly ends with her and Daryl. I like me some drama so hehe. - ❝I remembered how it all started. How the world went from civilized with jobs, normal people, conversations. Without the fear of being consumed alive by undead man. Torn apart, left to turn into one of them. I remember the time before I met Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, all of them. The time before I feared for my sanity. I remember that day at the hospital when a man was rolled in unconscious and injured, my fifth GSW case that month alone. I remember all those cases before him for the past month, the fevers of 110, the quick unstoppable deaths. The bites. I remember the first time I smelled burning flesh and gunpowder. How it coiled around my lungs and burned my nose as I inhaled. The mangled body of my intern littered with bullet holes. I remember the time before the war, I remember when I could go home and sleep without fear of being bitten the next day. I remember the day I had a son, blood or not, and I remember the day he was murdered in front of my eyes. I remember it all. I remember too much. Why were we the ones who live? Why not Glenn? Why not Carl? Henry, or Enid? Any of the other many people we lost for the sake of what, humanity? I had a son once, I had a family. And where are they? ❞ - follow Avery Warren's journey from ER Nurse to survivalist as she navigates a world overrun by the undead. She must deal with dangerous situations, deadly threats, and her own group's disagreements as she strives to protect her people and seek safety in a seemingly hopeless world. She faces the constant threat of both walkers and other humans, struggling to find a safe haven from the zombies while also trying to maintain her humanity. - I only own my characters; the rest belong to AMC and Robert Kirkman.

Daryl always put on a mask, an impenetrable facade that made him appear indifferent, as if he didn't care about anything or anyone except for himself. He pushed people away, deliberately keeping them at arm's length, but I knew better. I had seen glimpses of something more beneath that hardened exterior-something real, something human. It wasn't obvious, and it wasn't easy to see, but it was there. I didn't know the full extent of his story, of the pain and the ghosts he carried with him, but I could tell that behind his rough edges, there was a man who cared. The more I watched him, the more I saw that contradiction in him-this mix of isolation and vulnerability. I didn't know him the way I wanted to, but at the same time, there was a strange, inexplicable feeling that I did. It was as if there was something familiar in him, something I recognized, even though we'd never truly shared our pasts. His eyes, especially, told a story all their own-a silent narrative of hurt, survival, and loss. There was a depth there, something raw and honest, as though his life before all of this had shaped him into someone who had learned not to trust, not to hope. I found myself wondering what kind of life he had before the world fell apart-what his family had been like, what his childhood had been shaped by. I could imagine the kind of father he had-a man whose influence left deep scars, someone who might have made Daryl believe that showing emotion or affection was a weakness. It wasn't hard to guess that the lessons Daryl had learned were ones forged in silence and pain, things that had made him pull away from others and close off the softer parts of himself. "𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚. 𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙬𝙖𝙮." = this is a partial slow burn = The world has fallen apart, leaving only the ruthless, and the desperate to fight for what's left. In a world overrun by the dead, survival isn't just about skill-it's about trust. Amara Hangings and her best friend, Henry have relied on each other to make it this far. Whenever they are captured by a group, they cross paths with a stuck-up, crossbow prick named Daryl Dixon. Henry sees danger in Daryl. Amara sees something else. As they fight through this new world, an uneasy trust begins to form. But in a world where attachments are a risk, letting someone in could be the most dangerous choice of all. For Daryl, survival has always been black and white-until Amara proves that sometimes, the gray areas are worth the risk. ------------ This roughly takes place in the beginning of TWD. I changed the plot a bit to fit in more Amara x Daryl and to make more of a new plot while keeping the basics of the TWD season 1 plot. In this Daryl is late 20's- early 30's. I tried to keep in the character of Daryl Dixon as shown in TWD and what they have said in interviews. Enjoy! I DID NOT MAKE THIS CONCEPT. Surviving is what Rowan does best. She's been alone almost since the beginning and it's suited her just fine. Lately things have changed; a group has appeared and she can't help her interest in them, especially one particular redneck with a crossbow. What will happen when they meet? Will the two loners of the apocalypse realize that they're better off together? **As always my descriptions kind of suck but trust me, this story is worth the read!!
