What if Katerina Petrova had an unknown younger sister named Ruzha Petrova whom wasn't killed off by Klaus Mikaelson, but instead had stayed true to her Traveler heritage for as long as possible, using her magic, and trying to find a way to leave Bulgaria. Ruzha has two children before she could leave, but then they are taken from her by the man she had thought loved her, and she is changed into the very creature she had despised and feared since her family was murdered and her sister was taken from her banished from ever seeing her family again. After a little over 500 years, Ruzha finds herself in Mystic Falls, Virginia, and meets a girl who looks just like her sister, the ever elusive Katerina Petrova, who for the last two hundred years has been going by the name Katherine Pierce. The girl turns out to be related to Ruzha, distantly, and Ruzha discovers her sister is finally dead after all these years. But, Ruzha finds that she might not have to be a vampire any longer, and she might just be at home in the wondrous town where anything can and has happened, and that this just might be the place where Ruzha truly belongs.
