Maiti has just escaped from the Rixx slave ship. After a wild run through the station being chased by armored aliens and shot at with laser guns fit for a scifi movie. Maiti bruised, bleeding, and going into shock finds herself staring at a blue glow that speaks English. This glow promises safety and rest if she passes through it. In her near delirious state of shock, hunger, and thirst, Maiti believes the voice's promises and more falls through than walks through.
