Zombie Apocalypse Roleplay (OPEN)

Evolution is something humans have always been good at. However, this time they evolved something that would wipe them all out. After scientists discovered a hidden area of the brain, that only functioned after death, they obviously began to experiment on it. How could they have known what it would lead to? Now, due to human curiosity, this area of the brain has evolved. After death, this area of the brain (nicknamed the Oretly Mortemis) awakens and spreads through the brain, trying to make whatever it can work without other organs. Humans now can roam after dying, but hold no memories, humane thoughts, or old basic functions. One thing that the Oretly Mortemis is able to awaken is movement, and the predatory instinct to hunt. And one scent rules over all others. Human flesh.
Everyone is infected, and the dead are now killing machines. If you are bitten, a virus spreads due to the OM and sets in a fever that will kill you. Unless you destroy the brain, everyone will turn.
It slowly began to spread, despite the Government trying to keep it under wraps. Soon, months of news flashed information and images about a spreading illness affecting Australia, then Africa, until it reached the rest of the world. It eventually hit America, and caused an epidemic. Now, less than a third of the world's population remains, and the few that have survived have mostly lost their minds and their humanity.
This role-play begins 6 months later into the apocalypse. Create an OC and survive in this pandemonium. Try to avoid death and survive against the dead in a group, or with one other friend. See how long you last in the apocalypse.
