After defeating Savitar, an evil time remnant of Barry who tried to kill her, Zoe's life changed forever when the unstable nature of the Speed Force threatened to destroy the city and Barry chose to sacrifice himself to save everyone.
Now, she is the sole leader of Team Phlash, and with the help of Wally West/Kid Flash, Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Iris West, Detective Joe West, and her adoptive father, Zach Abrams, she continues to keep Central City safe and encounters a new foe who threatens to level the city unless the Flash returns.
But breaking Barry out of the Speed Force causes a chain reaction, resulting in the creation of 'bus metas' who become essential in a diabolical plot orchestrated by the Thinker.
