Could be read independently if you truly wanted to, but I'd recommend reading the first book. - I rush through the forest on foot, Emery right behind me as I panic. "Dennis!" I yell out and Emery stops me. "You need to calm down, your panicking." I glare at him and shove his hands off. "Really?" I push forward and keep calling my sons name out. I breathe heavily as I let out a small sob. How'd this happen? How did he slip away with Winnie without anyone at the party seeing? Emery grabs my shoulders and squeezes them as I felt my knees buckle below me-I press my hands into my eyes, "This is all my fault. I shouldn't have lost it on mom or Johnny." I brush my hair away from my sweaty and tear stained face as I twist my face to look around us. "We have to keep looking. He has to be somewhere." Emery silently pulls me in and holds me to him. I felt any of what I had left blocking my emotions out break as I let out a sob and more followed as I balled up my brothers jacket in my hands. How could I let this happen, why'd I agree to invite that sick man to my sons birthday. God why. "Emery we-we have to keep going." I pull away and drag him with me as I focus on the task at hand, a freezing hand coming up from my side as I wipe my tears with my hand roughly.Lengkap

''Let me help you, ma'am,'' a man who was probably the flight attendant said. Damn. Ryerson Reeds even had handsome flight attendants. The man stooped a bit, leaning close to her and taking the seatbelt from her hands. He was holding eye contact and Lyla felt herself grow amused as she stared back at him. He was going to start buckling her up before someone cleared their throat loudly. They both looked up to meet Reeds' blue-green eyes. ''I think I can help my wife, thank you,'' he said. A wayward regency au one shot I wrote for fun, and because the concept wouldn't stop haunting my mind. ~ Trying to get back up after his ex-fiancé left him, Lord Arthur Pendragon relents to his friends and families idea of hosting a party in his family's estate. Although holding up hope for a new love that evening, he could not predict falling head over heel for a woman with haunted eyes, who secretly hides a crooked and wicked grin and a spark of intrigue unlike any he's glimpses before. After catching the sight of that side of her, and the way her families mistreatment severely dampens it, he finds himself sure of one thing. He's going to get her out their grasp, but doing so might be more tricky then first expected. Miss Harriet Frodesdotter is stuck in a hell of constantly being forced into a uncomfortable, lace covered, dress, into unbearably loud ballrooms, and dealing with condescending suitors that her controlling sister manages to steer towards her. The sudden approach by a Lord Pendragon does make her pause however, his sweet and concerned eyes appearing to be almost horrifyingly sincere as he offers to help her with her family issues.
