I stopped at the corner and James bumped into me. The impact almost made me fall over, straight into the guards view, but luckily James caught me before I did.
"What are you doing?" he hissed in my ear.
"Saving our lives. " I said then pushed him into an open cell and closed it slightly so that it looked like it was locked.
"Sit down and make it look like you're miserable. " I ordered him.
"I am miserable. " he grumbled back.
The voices were getting closer, and I could hear foot steps approaching.

In a war between humans and mutants, two teenagers are captured and taken in to be prisoners of the war.
However, Mackenzie and James manage to escape from the prison and land up in a different world altogether. It could be their safe haven, or it could be a death trap.

I felt myself staring at the boy. New...? Is that what the others said? But... he didn't look like a newborn, in fact, he looked 16... couldn't have been born yesterday, right? I sat there confused, staring in his direction. He was drawing, a notebook placed in his lap as his pencil gently scratched against the paper. It was then, a certain smell hit my nose. I sniffed the air softly, trying not to pull too much attention towards myself. My eyes flickering around as I tried to determine where they were. One of my kind is nearby... a demon...? An Astra in this school? But... why? I closed my eyes tightly, rubbing my temples gently as I tried to think over the entire class talking and making noise. I have to find the other one of my kind... I want to know why they're here... What would they be doing here...? Astra's don't come up to the surface at all. --- Nova is an Astra demon, a monster is what some would say. His species is emotionless- other than him, of course. He's known as 'defective,' where he actually HAS emotions. Though, they're strong, too strong for him to control. When I got in, I found a couple making out by the sinks. I ignored them and went to the sink to wash away this fluid. My vision was blurry as I was cleaning up my nose. The sink was painted black by the stuff from my nose. “I tucked my light brown hair behind my ear and placed on my warm, light blue winter jacket and headed for the woods. He was here, breathing down my neck, yet not here at all. I felt his presence consume me, yet I felt nothing. The cold air whipped into my face and I looking into the July snow. “Whitney,” the spirits whispered. He was here.” What happens when one era ends and another begins? Whitney woke up from her afternoon nap when her best friend Sarah called. Apparently, the world was ending, despite the obvious knowledge it wasn't, and Sarah wanted to party. Whitney was always the third wheel when it came to Sarah and her boyfriend Jack, and was really not up for it, but she threw on some clothes and met them at the beach. Whitney met them, and after hours of torture, ran away from them after almost drinking cow blood. On her run, she saved lives and saw the world beginning to change. She ends the escape at Courtney's house, a local teen, who was drunk with her best friends. Unfortunately, the Ouija board "joke" turned into a true spell that slowly caused the human race to disintegrate and the rise of supernatural beings to become a reality. I dedicate this story to my best friend Zoe. Zoe, you're a constant inspiration for this and I love you forever for it!!!Complete

I finally escaped the factory, they kidnapped me from my college. Today is my birthday, and I had planned for it but nothing helped, only calming me down for the moment. A scream echoed out in the silent starry sky, my body freezing... They were looking for me, I just knew it. Again, I ran and jumping over the fence to the property, muscles burning, my breathing short. I look behind me, not seeing the light of the school anymore. I slow down, holding my breath again. Looking around, only trees and bugs surround me. I slowly sank to my knees, gripping the grass in between my fingers, to keep my breathing calm. Tears springing to my eyes and brushing the tears away, slowly getting back to normal. Suddenly, I felt someone behind me. I could feel its strength and power surround me, turning around to see a dark figure behind me. Glowing blue eyes stared at me, seeing it slowly walk toward me. My breathing becoming short again, a panic attack was on the verge. A hand was now on my shoulder and another on my cold cheek, making me look into his eyes, "Let me help you..." He whispered. Rubbing his thumb against my cheek, I slowly nod my head, when a pain began to form in my chest. I knew it was coming. I quickly get away, crawling a couple feet away. "Get away!" I yelled. My skin turning white and the pain erupting inside of me, feeling it try to escape, and I know if I let it. It will hurt this man. Suddenly, he was there in my view. Blue eyes staring at me, and then his lips were on my own. Gasping as I felt the pain beginning to disappear from inside me. Eyes drooping and my body relaxing against his. Soon, the kiss ended and I was empty. My eyes closing. "Don't worry, I will keep you safe..."Complete
