Hanahaki Disease is a potentially fatal disease where the victim regurgitates flower petals when they suffer from perceived one-sided love. (Even if the person the victim loves feels the same way, if the victim is unaware of those feelings, the disease continues). It can be cured through surgical removal, but the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear. 

That's exactly what Keith Kogane was diagnosed with. Now he only has one week. 

He loved him too much. He doesn't want the feelings to disappear.

You see, he thought Shiro didn't love him back.

He loved flowers so much. He loved Shiro so much.

It's a shame that that's what killed him.
